1. National monumentThe monument is on Dam square in Amsterdam. This monument was designed by Dutch architect J.J.P Oud. The sculptures of the monument were made by John Radecker and his sons. The reliefs are by the sculptor Paul Gregoire. The monument was revealed on 4th May 1956. Every year on National Memorial Day, people come together at the National monument to honour all the people who died during the World War.

2. Royal Palace of Amsterdam The palace was build as a city hall during the Dutch Golden Age, in the 17th century. &nbsp;The building first became the palace of Napoleon and later it became the palace of the Dutch Royal House. A yellowish sandstone was used for the entire building but as years went by, the color turned darker. For a long time it was the largest administrative building of Europe. The palace is used by the &nbsp;monarch for entertaining and official functions, for example during state visits.

3) Van Gogh We also went by the Rijkmuseum. This is one of the most prestigious museums in Europe, and the largest one of the entire country. It also contains an actual treasure of masterpieces made by talented painters. The best example is the autoportrait from Vincent Van Gogh. It was made in 1887. (informative text -&gt; it shows the left side of Van Gogh cause the other side is mutilated, he cut his own ear), and is painted in a very particular way. Van Gogh was a really special artist, but even if he went insane at the end of his life, his beautiful paintings like the famous &uml;starry night&uml; confirms that he&acute;s always been a genius.&nbsp;

4) Night Watch The night watch is a painting from the 17th century (more precisely from 1642) , made by Rembrandt van Rijm, a Dutch painter. It is also placed in the Rijksmuseum, and it is one of the most famous dutch painting, but also one of the biggest ones : its more than 3.5 meters long and 4 meters large ! it shows the richest people of amsterdam at this time, who were supposed to defend the city : its called the night watch. (informative text : there was a night watch and a day watch and this painting is called the night watch but it actually shows day watch, its just that the painting got dirty over the years, and got darker, so people got confused). people in the front with good lighting are the richest ones, because the more you pay, the more likely you get to have a good spot on the picture. if you look closely, you can see that the little girl on the left is holding a chicken : its the mascot of the watch.
